Another escaped prisoner from QC jail nabbed

MANILA, Philippines – Another escaped prisoner from a police station in Quezon City was arrested by authorities in Rizal Wednesday evening, police said.

QCPD Station 5 commander Superintendent Edgardo Pamitan said Joel Gorobat was apprehended at around 10 p.m. in Barangay (village) Silangan, San Mateo, Rizal where they also caught three of the nine inmates who escaped with Gorobat.

Pedro Perez, Russel Catintay, and Romulos Bagnate were caught at around 5 p.m. also on Wednesday.

Perez was believed to have led the eight other detainees in their escape, said Pamitan.

Perez admitted that his girlfriend gave them the saw which they used on the metal bars of the windows if their detention cells.

Pamitan said that cases would be readied against the four inmates.

Police Officer 3 Jezrel Regalado of the QCPD said that the inmates escaped at around 2 a.m.

The manhunt for five more inmates who remained at large as well as an investigation on the incident was ongoing, said Pamitan.
