Personal grudge

Police authorities said the killing of Kabuntalan town’s police chief, Inspector Tiongan Namla, could have been triggered by personal grudge.

Senior Supt. Rodelio Jocson, Maguindanao police chief, did not elaborate but said investigation was still ongoing.

Online processing

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato,  Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos) is implementing its first online processing of Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), officials said on Wednesday.

The new technology was being used in response to a report by the Commission on Audit  on many unclaimed SPES checks and the perennial problem of delay in the release of payment to program beneficiaries, said Ofelia Domingo, DOLE regional director, in a statement. Edwin Fernandez, Inquirer Mindanao
