Antirabies drive in Makati

In observance of National Rabies Awareness Month, the Makati government is embarking on a series of free antirabies vaccinations for pets in the the city’s barangays.

Makati Veterinary Services Office chief Dr. Vivien C. Manalastas said pet owners can avail of the free service in the their barangay halls from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the following dates:

  • March 10 in Barangay Carmona;
  • March 11 in Barangay Northside and Barangay Tejeros;
  • March 12 in Barangay La Paz;
  • March 13 in Barangay Olympia;
  • March 14 in Barangay Valenzuela;
  • March 18 in Barangay Sta. Cruz;
  • March 19 in Barangay San Isidro;
  • March 20 in Barangay Pinagkaisahan;
  • March 21 in Barangay Kasilawan;
  • March 25 and 26 in Guadalupe Nuevo; and
  • March 27 and 28 in Guadalupe Viejo.

“We are encouraging pet lovers and pet owners to have their pets vaccinated to protect their families from rabies. Please join us in promoting responsible pet ownership,” Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay Jr. said.

The vaccinations, which began on March 6 and 7 in Barangay Comembo, continued on Saturday in Barangays Pembo, Rizal, Tejeros, Singkamas, East Rembo, Bangkal, Pio del Pilar, La Paz, Olympia and West Rembo. Jaymee T. Gamil
