Fire hits residential area in Pasig

MANILA, Philippines–At least 20 houses  were gutted by fire in Pasig City Tuesday noon.

Pasig City Public Information Office said on  Twitter that the blaze hit a residential block on Purok 1 in Barangay (village) Rosario, a stone’s throw away from Rosario Elementary School.

Personnel from the city fire department put out the fire at 2:35 p.m., almost two hours since it was tapped around 12 noon.

A radio report, meanwhile, said that the fire prompted school officials  to suspend its afternoon classes.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause of fire and damage to property are still being determined by authorities.
