LBC branch in Agusan del Sur town robbed of cash

SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur, Philippines – Armed robbers barged into the cargo forwarding firm of the LBC branch here on Tuesday night and carted away an undetermined amount of cash.

Superintendent Rodelio Roqueta, acting police chief, said the robbers took the chance when policemen already left their usual post at a nearby sari-sari (variety) store to patrol other parts of the town and the establishment had just closed shop.

The robbers were clever enough to walk quietly along with LBC van drivers who entered the building using the back door, and as soon as they were inside, announced a robbery and looked for the vault.

The local LBC branch has been the target of robbers and has been victimized several times in the past.

Roqueta said they were conducting a thorough probe, considering the CCTV camera of the building to identify the robbers.

“We were not a remiss since we have been telling the local LBC branch to hire security guards but we were told that it is a company policy nationwide not to get one.”
