MANILA, Philippines – A man was booted out of the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) in the early hours of the New Year for allegedly causing a commotion at the hospital that was overflowing with firecracker blast victims.

The man who was accompanied by a woman walked into the hospital around 2 a.m. to seek medical relief of his aching right torso.

As he was being attended routinely at the emergency room’s reception desk, he suddenly raised his voice and criticized the hospital.

The security guards were drawn into the emergency room by the commotion. They asked the person to leave but he refused.

The guards’ presence made him so angry that he repeatedly demanded the desk person’s name and shouted curse words at the security personnel.

At one point the man threatened to sue the hospital and the guards.

He kept shouting “Get the f*** off me” at the guards and “What’s your name dawg?!” at the desk personnel.

Security personnel were able to get the man out of the ER but he came back minutes later and confronted the guards for the second time.

When INQUIRER.net asked about the hospital’s policy on such incidents, Dr. John Paul Ner, Chief Resident of the EAMC Emergency and Trauma Center, said that their primary concern is the security of the patients besides making sure that the operations at the ER are unhampered.

Regarding the man’s threats to sue the hospital, Ner said they would “just ignore them.”
