MANILA, Philippines—The northeast monsoon (hanging amihan) brought rains in parts of Luzon including Metro Manila, the state weather bureau said Friday afternoon.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) earlier said Metro Manila and the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon and the province of Rizal would experience cloudy skies with light rains due to ‘‘amihan.’’

The rest of the country, meanwhile, will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
