Gao, Alberto head Alta Vista Fun Golf winners

WEIWEI Gao and Rolando Alberto head the cast of winners of last weekend’s Alta Vista Fun Golf Tournament at the par-72 Alta Vista Golf and Country Club golf course in Pardo, Cebu City.

Gao, 14, fired nines of 33 and 34 to bag the lowest gross honors with a five-under-par 67 strokes. Alberto claimed the lowest net honors with an 11-under-par 61 strokes off a gross 77 after edging Atty. Ellie Espinoza in the countback.

The class A division title went to Cristino Lim, who shot a nine-under-par 63 strokes off a gross 74. Atty. Marlo Cugtas finished second with his net score of 66 strokes winning over 12-year-old Junia Gabasa in the countback. Gabasa, who competed in the regular division from the same tee mound as the men, settled for third place honors.

Ari Clinton Lee grabbed the class B title after a 65 beating Jun Zosa in the countback. Zosa settled for the first runner-up honors while Nestor Mendoza with a net score of 67 strokes finished third.

Joseph Shin ruled class C with a net score of 66 strokes while Robert Tiu finished second with a 67. Billy Tan (68) wound up third via countback edging Willy Go.

Tony Amor earned lowest gross honors of the seniors’ category with his four-over-par 76 strokes enough to edge out Inting Go in the countback. The lowest net honors for this division went to Ellie Espinoza with 61 strokes.

David Villono topped the super seniors’ division with a net score of 66 strokes while Justice Pampio Abarintos (67) finished second edging out Jun Caoili in the countback.

Tessa Ozoa romped off with the ladies crown with her even-par 72 strokes. Marina Kaufmann (76) took runner up honors.

Sir Cross Abarintos won the dependents’ title with 71 strokes while Weiyu Gao (72) came in second.

Pio Barandog bagged the guest division crown with a net score of 64 strokes off a gross 70 beating two others in the countback including Lee Kui Liam from Sabaha Golf and Country Club of Malaysia and third placer Mario Parungao. /Correspondent Lou Coloyan
