A 32-year-old man whom police accused of being a member of a robbery group was also implicated in the killing of a real estate broker in barangay Banilad, Cebu City last Dec. 2.

Sandy Kho allegedly admitted his participation in the killing of Edgar Cañete. He, however, claimed it was his cohort who shot the victim and that he just drove the getaway vehicle.

Kho was tagged as one of the two men who robbed businesswoman Wella Rosal of P800,000 and checks worth P1 million in barangay Inayawan, Cebu City last Saturday.

Senior Supt. Noli Romana, chief of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said Rosal and the pharmacy attendant identified Kho as the robber.

Rosal was on board a van with his workers when two armed men waylaid them. The victim, who is engaged in selling dressed chickens, came from the Carbon Market where she had just collected payments from her customers.

Romana said Kho admitted the accusations hurled against him.

Seized from the man’s possession during the arrest were a KG9 pistol and a .45 caliber pistol, police said. Kho was driving a motorcycle when police flagged him down in barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City Monday afternoon.

Police said they later found out that the motorcycle was a stolen vehicle.

In an interview, Kho, a resident of barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City, said he assured the police that he will cooperate in the investigation.
