Dumanjug mayor faces second admin complaint

/ 07:58 AM December 11, 2013

DUMANJUG Vice Mayor Efren Guntrano Gica and municipal councilor Joshua Dacumos filed a second administrative complaint against Mayor Nelson Garcia and five of his allies in the town council.

The complaint stemmed from Mayor Garcia’s alleged refusal to recognize municipal council secretary Nerio Aquino whom Gica appointed last September.

Garcia only recognizes his appointee Emmylou Cabonillas as the council’s secretary.

He said Councilors Ricardo Boquecosa, Ricardo Condes, Ely Amadora, Miriam Llaño and Antonio Garcia who were allied with Garcia committed a “conspiracy” by also recognizing Cabonillas.

Gica said the five councilors refused to attend the town council’s sessions in which his appointee, Aquino served as secretary.

The Cebu Provincial Board (PB) will investigate Gica’s first administrative complaint, Provincial Secretary Anecita Pasaylo said.

Both complaints will undergo hearing and deliberation under the PB’s committee on complaints and investigation headed by PB member Arleigh Sitoy. /Correspondent Peter L. Romanillos
