‘Crips’ member shot

A 22-YEAR-OLD member of a youth gang was shot by a member of a rival group in barangay Jugan, Consolacion town, northern Cebu yesterday dawn.

Felmar Pedrosa sustained a gunshot wound in the back.

The victim is a member of the Crips Gang, while the alleged assailant, a certain Joko, is a member of the Bloods Gang, said PO1 Retchie Giliran of the Consolacion Police Station.

Police said victim’s group and the suspect’s friends chanced upon each other along a road.

A heated argument occurred between the two groups until the suspect drew a revolver and shot the victim.

Joko and his companions fled from the scene after the attack. The victim was taken to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

Police conducted a follow-up operation but failed to locate the suspect./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
