CBA to fete UAAP, NCAA top players

UAAP Most Valuable Player Terrence Romeo and NCAA MVP Raymund Almazan head the powerhouse cast of Mythical Five awardees in the 2013 Collegiate Basketball Awards which will be staged on Dec. 15.

Romeo took his game to another level this past season and led the Far Eastern University Tamaraws back to the Final Four. For his efforts, Romeo was named as the UAAP’s MVP.

Almazan on the other hand, led the Letran Knights to the finals for a second straight year before falling to eventual champions, San Beda.

Almazan and Romeo quickly joined the PBA Draft after the season and was picked second and sixth overall by Rain or Shine and GlobalPort, respectively. Joining the duo in the prestigious Mythical Five are La Salle’s Jeron Teng, National University’s Bobby Ray Parks and San Beda’s import, Ola Adeogun.

Also receiving awards during that night are champion coaches Juno Sauler of La Salle and Boyet Fernandez of San Beda, who are set to be named as co-Coaches of the Year. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
