Confiscated tons of fishes to be donated to charity–BFAR

MANILA, Philippines — Tons of fishes caught illegally will be donated to various institutions, a report on 990AM said Tuesday.

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) will be donating to the Home for the Aged and Quezon City Jail, among others, over two tons of fishes that were confiscated after these were found to have been caught through dynamite fishing, the report said.

BFAR director Asis Perez was quoted in the report as saying that the fishes were still safe to eat and that the BFAR was just waiting for the “go signal” of these institutions for the turnover of the fishes.
