USC starts bid in Milo Best Nationals

/ 06:53 AM November 23, 2013

AFTER BEING away from the national spotlight for quite some time, the University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors hope to return with a splash as they vie for the Passerelle crown in the national finals of the Milo-backed BEST Twin Tournament today at the University of Assumption Gym in San Fernando, Pampanga.

USC won the Visayas regional title last month but the wards of head coach Britt Reroma are in for tough uphill climb as they battle the other regional champions—Mindanao ruler Ateneo de Davao, Luzon champion Angeles University Foundation and Metro Manila titlists Chang Kai Shek.

USC is trying to make the most out of their return to the national scene after dominating this tournament from 2000 to 2005.

FEATURED STORIES

Aside from bannering the school, USC is hoping to make Cebu proud after the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu won it in 2010 and 2011 while the University of the Visayas placed in second last year.

Also up for grabs is the national title of the SBP division with the University of St. La Salle of Bacolod representing the Visayas. But defending SBP national champion La Salle Greenhills is favored to score a second straight title./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
