MAN HACKED IN DRINKING BOUT

A 23-YEAR-OLD man was hacked by his friend after they argued during a drinking session in barangay Buaya, Lapu-Lapu City Thursday night.

Miguelito Chan sustained five hack wounds in the face.

The alleged assailant identified only as Tintin fled after the incident.

Police said the victim visited Chan in his house where they had a drinking session.

A few hours later, Chan told his friend that he would go home.

Tintin asked Chan to stay a little longer so they could consume one more bottle of beer.

Chan insisted on leaving. This irked Tintin and led to an argument between the two men.

While arguing, Tintin took a knife used to chop meat and attacked his friend.

MAN FOUND DEAD OFF DANAO

THE body of an unidentified man was found floating in the waters off barangay Dunggo-an, Danao City, northern Cebu last Thursday morning.

Police said the fatality was believed to be in his 60’s.

The man was brought to the hospital after he was fished out from the waters.

MAN KILLED IN VAN-TRUCK COLLISION

A 52-YEAR-OLD man was killed after the Toyota van he was driving collided with a trailer truck in barangay Abugon, Sibonga town, southern Cebu.

Police identified the fatality as Lino Merced Aldava, a resident of barangay Bahay, Sibonga.

Police said the victim had just come from the his sister’s wake in Liloan town when he met the accident Thursday afternoon.

Police said witnesses to the events leading to the collision saw Aldava’s Toyota Hi-Ace van running at high speed when the accident occurred at a blind curve.

The driver of the truck, Lucresio Simogan, 43, said he saw the van already encroaching his lane. He said he stepped on the brakes to avoid a collision to no avail.

The truck came from Bohol and was bound for Cebu City to deliver empty bottle of softdrinks.
