GK’s Operation Walang Iwanan (No one gets left behind) is active in Bohol, where quake relief is on high drive.

GK Executive Director Luis Oquinena who returned from Bohol Wednesday reported the successful distribution of goods directly to families with “no encounters with uncooperative government officials so far.”

Volunteers were able to reach towns that had never received any form of help one week after the quake.

For Day 6 or Oct 23, GK volunteers served families in the following towns: Clarin – 300 relief packs, Tubigon – 1,510 liters of water, San Isidro -3,276 liters of water, Inabanga – 300 relief packs and 4,708 liters of water, Sagbayan – 600 liters of water, Calape – 1,800 liters of water, Loon – 1,080 liters of water

In Tubigon town, fresh volunteers from Leyte, Cebu and Negros Oriental arrived.

“Relieving the first team who has been here for four days. Great job guys…rest well. We’ll take it from here,” posted one member in their official Facebook page.

This weekend, a barge exclusive to GK has been booked through LH Foundation to ferry more goods to Bohol.

Bangon SugBohol volunteers will accompany them as well.
