3 teen boys tagged in motorcycle theft fall

THREE minors were arrested by police on complaints that they were involved in stealing motorcycles in Lapu-Lapu City.

The three minors aged 14, 15 and 17 was accused of stealing a motorcycle owned by an Iranian national early morning of Oct. 14.

Nader Namadi, 32, sought the help of the Theft and Robbery Section of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office when his Honda wave motorcycle was stolen from the parking space of his house in barangay Basak.

At around 9 p.m. Sunday, barangay tanods apprehended the three minors after they were caught riding Namadi’s missing motorcycle.

The suspects are high school students of private schools in Lapu-lapu City.

The three boys were turned over to social workers.

Police said it was the 17-year-old boy who admitted during interrogation that they also stole two other motorcycles and a mountain bike, police said.

Police recovered a Yamaha Mio (3209-GO) which was stolen in sitio Tangke, barangay Basak sometime in August this year. Also recovered was a a black Yamaha Mio (07-5105) which was stolen in barangay Punta Engaño on Oct. 12 and a mountain bike which was stolen in barangay Basak on Oct. 14.  /CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V.
