MANILA, Philippines — The Makati regional trial court hearing the serious illegal detention charge against alleged pork barrel scam operator Janet Lim Napoles has given the green light for the Senate to subpoena her to its hearing on the P10-billion pork barrel scam on November 7.

Napoles, held as the mastermind of the scam, is currently detained at Fort Sto. Domingo for the serious illegal detention charge being heard by the Makati regional trial court branch 150, based on accusations of her cousin, whistleblower Benhur Luy.

Court clerk of court Diosfa Valencia confirmed with reporters that Judge Elmo Alameda had given the greenlight to the Senate blue ribbon committee’s subpoena for Napoles, a copy of which was submitted to the court “out of courtesy.”
