Did you know: Philippine Assembly inauguration

The first Philippine Assembly was inaugurated on Oct. 16, 1907. The Assembly served as the lower house of the Philippine Legislature, with the Philippine Commission as the upper house. In 1916, the Philippine Legislature was reorganized as a bicameral legislative body composed of a Senate and a House of Representatives. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
