Man shoots estranged wife

A 43-year-old woman was shot by her estranged husband in barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City.

Hilda Malingin had just returned from   a benefit dance when she was shot in the right leg by Edgar Malingin at dawn yesterday.

Malingin was taken to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital. She was later transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

The woman told police that she is presently cohabiting  with another man after she and her husband separated a few months ago.

Police said the victim and her friends were walking home  in sitio Buyong when Malingin appeared from behind and shot her.
