Dumaguete marks Family Week

THE Dumaguete City government will join the country in celebrating Family Week starting today until Sept. 27 with activities lined up by the City Social Welfare and Development Office.

This year’s theme “Unity Across Generation: A Strong Family, A Strong Society,” underscores the importance of strengthening families as a basic unit of society.

Event chairperson George Gilvero said the celebration will kick off today at 1:30 p.m. with Ecumenical service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in barangay Tinago.

Other highlights include Kalipi family fun day symposium at the Women’s Center tomorrow, Kapihan sa PIA at Bethel Guest House and a family dialogue on Sept. 25, poster making contest on Sept. 26 and skills training on Sept. 27 as well as a medical and dental mission from 8 a.m. to noon at the Quezon Park.
