Woman found dead in motel bathroom

A woman was found dead in the bathroom of a motel in Manila before dawn Sunday.

SPO3 Glenzor Vallejo of the Manila Police District homicide section identified the victim as Sheila Halili, 28, a resident of Jose Doroteo Street in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

Her body was discovered by a motel employee at 2:50 a.m. inside the bathroom at Room 15 of Carport Inn on Rizal Avenue.

The police are now looking for the man who was with her when she checked into the motel. He was identified only as Michael, between 35 and 40 years old, around 5’5” in height and of heavy build.

According to the motel checker, Mario Fabillar, Michael was a regular at the motel, often checking in with women believed to be sex workers. At 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, he arrived at the motel with the victim.

Fabillar said that when he went to the couple’s room to remind them that it was checkout time, he found the woman naked and bloodied in the bathroom while Michael had disappeared.

A rock found in the bathroom was believed to have been used to hit the victim in the face. She also had a wound on her head.
