Car hit by mortar as Zamboanga fighting enters 8th day; no one hurt

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A car parked on a street here was hit by mortar shell on Monday afternoon as the fighting between government forces and Moro National Liberation Front fighters continued.

Police said the car was parked on Camino Nuevo Street, some two kilometers away from the airport.

It was not immediately clear from which side the mortar shell was fired from.
