Basilan attacked anew – Hataman

MANILA, Philippines – Fresh attacks by Moro gunmen erupted in Lamitan City, Basilan on Friday, Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Governor Mujiv Hataman told Inquirer.net.

Hataman said the same group  of Abu Sayyaf, Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF), and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) fighters that  attacked the city Thursday  returned and  attacked anew government forces at the outskirts of Lamitan City.

“Kahapon umatras. Ngayon bumalik at doon sila sa may periphery nagkakaputukan nga ngayon from time to time,” he said.

Inquirer Mindanao on Thursday said the military were pursuing the group, composed of around 100 gunmen.
