Flights to Zamboanga ‘on hold’ due to clash

MANILA, Philippines—Cebu Pacific announced a cancelation of flight to and from Zamboanga City, following an encounter between government troops and suspected members of the Moro National Liberation Front early Monday.

In an advisory posted on Facebook, Cebu Pacific said flight 5J 840 Tawi-Tawi to Zamboanga has been cancelled “due to the current security situation in Zamboanga [City].”

“The rest of the flights to and from Zamboanga today (Monday)have been put on hold,” it added.

It said Cebu Pacific passengers with flights to and from Zamboanga Monday may rebook their flights for travel within 30 days from original departure date with no penalties.

Passengers may also opt for “full travel fund” or “full refund.”

“CEB passengers may call (02)7020-888 or (032)230-8888 within the day for their preferred option,” it said.
