DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur, Philippines – A security guard of the 97.5 MUEWS radio transmitter was wounded (not killed as earlier reported) when three unidentified men shot him in his post in Barangay Binaton at around 11 a.m. Sunday.
Arvin Malaza, the station manager, said three masked men shot security guard Roy Veronas, and later destroyed the radio transmitter and other equipment.
Veronas was hit in the right arm. He is now being treated at the Digos Doctors Hospital.
MUEWS Radio was airing live the Araw ng Digos celebration when the attack happened.
