DOT supports fight against neglected tropical diseases

/ 06:44 AM September 07, 2013

The Department of Tourism is supporting the fight of the Department of Health to eliminate neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in the country.

The DOT Central Visayas, through Regional Director Rowena Montecillo, shows this support by mounting a special setting during the recent Second National NTD Stakeholders Forum held at Marco Polo Plaza Hotel.

The message of the DOT assemblage goes “It’s even more fun in the Philippines without neglected tropical diseases,” a fusion of both the DOT campaign to promote the Philippines and the DOH fight to eliminate NTDs.

Close to 200 delegates working for an NTD-free Philippines and from various stakeholders all over the country attended the forum to fortify and expand partnerships and commitments for the control and elimination of NTDs.

DOH hopes that in 2018, the country will be NTD-free and will be a better destination of choice for travellers, making it an “even more fun” Philippines.

The Second National NTD Stakeholders Forum was organized by Funxions First.
