Man killed in Quezon highway accident

MANILA, Philippines—A man was killed when he was hit by a passenger bus while crossing a highway in Quezon Wednesday evening, police said Thursday.

Police identified the victim as Dennis Galvez Reyes, 38.

Quezon police said the accident happened on Maharlika Highway in Barangay (village) Angeles, Atimonan, Quezon around 9:45 p.m.

Police said Reyes was crossing the highway when a St. Martha Bus Line (TYG-154) driven by Rafael Biron Toledo Jr., 33, hit him.

Reyes was rushed to the Doña Martha Memorial Hospital, Atimonan, Quezon but was declared dead on arrival by attending physician.

Toledo was arrested by responding police officers, and the bus was impounded by the Atimonan police.
