Photojournalist shot dead in GenSan

GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines – A still unidentified gunman shot dead the photographer of local tabloid Sapol here on Thursday evening before his horrified wife and daughter.

Police Officer 2 Christopher Villamor, Pendatun police station investigator, said Mario Sy, 53, was with his family in their home on Sta. Cruz Silway in Barangay Dadiangas West when the gunman came in and shot him twice.

Villamor said when Sy’s wife recovered her composure, she rushed him to the hospital.

The victim died, however, without receiving medical treatment, Villamor added.

The motive was unknown and police said they were investigating the killing.
