Did you know: Quirino delivered Sona from hospital bed

Former President Elpidio Quirino once delivered his State of the Nation Address (Sona) while in the hospital. On Jan. 23, 1950, he delivered his Sona via a radio broadcast while he was confined at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the United States. The broadcast was aired live in Congress. Majority of Sonas were delivered at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City while others were delivered at the Legislative Building on Lepanto Street in Manila, Philippine International Convention Center, Rizal Park, Quirino Grandstand and Malacañang Palace.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
