Recto is Senate President Pro-Tempore
MANILA, Philippines—Senator Ralph Recto was elected as the Senate President Pro-Tempore, replacing senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada.
Recto was nominated by Senator Francis Escudero, a move seconded by senator Sergio Osmeña III.
No other senator was nominated and Recto was elected unanimously.
