Fire hits residential area in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — Fire gutted a residential block in Manila Tuesday, a National Capital Region-Bureau of Fire Protection officer said.

Fire blazed through still unidentified number of houses at Loreto Street corner Lacson in Sampaloc, Manila, particularly under the Nagtahan bridge, Fire Officer 3 Owen Ferrera said.

He said the fire started at 3:54 p.m. and is now under third alarm.

No other information was available.
