MANILA, Philippines—Death came to a man in Valenzuela City on Saturday when a 30-year-old woman and her one-year-old niece who had fallen off a three-story house crashed onto him as he was walking on the street below. Both the woman and the child were also killed, police said.

Police Officer 2 Raymond Andujar said that Renato Alcantara, 63, was rushed to Valenzuela City Emergency Hospital after he hit his head hard on the pavement following the incident,  which took place on Decena Street Barangay Arkong Bato, past 1 p.m. He was declared dead on arrival.

Andujar said it was still unclear whether anyone had pushed Rachel Naval and her niece Denise Cabrera from the third story—or the rooftop—of the house, but a neighbor said only the two were in Naval’s dwelling at that time.

Naval was rushed to the VCEH, and Cabrera to the nearby San Lorenzo Hospital but were both declared dead on arrival.

Andujar said the authorities were still investigating the cause of the fall.

He said, so far, they were looking for other witnesses who could describe what happened before ruling out foul play and declaring a suicide.
