Sta. Rosa Mayor Arlene Arcillas received overwhelming approval from the city’s voters after she won reelection by a landslide, which she said is a go signal for big ticket programs in her last term of office.

In a statement, the female mayor said she now has a fresh mandate to complete major infrastructure projects and expand health services.

One of the biggest projects her administration is completing is a multipurpose complex that would host sports events, an exhibition center, lifestyle and country club facilities, and offices for government agencies.

In her statement, Arcillas said she would set into motion midterm and long-term programs and projects, including information technology sector plans, that would put Sta. Rosa among the top five cities in the country and make it a top business process outsourcing destination.

She added that her administration will go all out in supporting developers as they push the city into becoming an upscale housing and commercial development center.

Arcillas received at least 85 percent of votes cast in the mayoral race, giving her the biggest margin ever in the history of Sta. Rosa elections.

Her entire ticket also made a sweep of the elections, with her candidates winning all positions from vice mayor to councilors.

In her six years in office as city mayor, Arcillas introduced a number of propeople programs and projects which attracted more investments, increasing the city’s revenues from P800 million in 2007 to P2 billion this year.
