Legarda: ‘It’s like the first time’

MANILA, Philippines – Reelectionist senator Loren Legarda said that she felt the same way as she did during her first proclamation as a senator back in 1998.
“Ang feeling ko [My feeling is] it’s like the first time back in 1998,” Legarda told reporters when she arrived at the Comelec’s canvassing center at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
“All I can feel now is gratitude, I have a grateful heart,” she added.
Legarda ranks second in the Commission on Elections canvassing as of Thursday night following Grace Poe.
She thanked President Benigno Aquino III’s “hands on campaign” for her strong finish.
Legarda was proclaimed with Poe, Juan Edgardo Angara, Alan Peter Cayetano, Francis Escudero, and Nancy Binay by the Comelec, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC).
