THE Saint Louis College-Cebu (formerly Saint Louis School of Mandaue) is celebrating its 40th founding anniversary this month.

The celebration, hosted by batch 1986 alumni, opened on Aug. 7 with a grand alumni homecoming that started with a motorcade, followed by a Mass and dinner.

Yesterday, the school conducted an Ecological Awareness Day where 40 kinds of trees were planted in different locations within the campus.

Other activities lined up for the almost month-long celebration include an ecological walk, the fun-walk, run and wellness program on Aug. 14.

FEATURED STORIES

This event has different concept as participants will not be running the entire 7K distance.

The parents, together with the students, will walk from SLCC campus to Ibabao-Estancia, while the alumni and some representatives from the Holy Family Parish in Maguikay, Mandaue City, will walk from SLCC to Maguikay flyover, then to AC Cortes Avenue going to Mandaue Coliseum where the two delegations will converge and walk towards City Hall for a short program. They will be picking up trashes along the way. After the program, all will return to the school taking the same route.

A blood typing and bloodletting activity will take place at 9:30 a.m. after the presentation of the candidates for the Ruby Princess. Those who want to donate blood or avail of blood typing are welcome. The bloodletting will be handled by the Philippine Red Cross.

All programs are being spearheaded by the family council, the alumni, the students, faculty and staff and parish representatives.

On Aug. 19, a fellowship night will be held to honor all the leaders of the school, the homeroom representatives, the family council executive committee, family council board of trustees, officers of the supreme student government, the elementary PCO, the alumni board and officers and the faculty and employees association officers.

The culmination day on Aug. 22 will highlight a thanksgiving Mass and the Search for Ms. Ruby Princess with cultural presentations as intermission numbers.
