‘An honest mistake,’ says Inquirer editor-in-chief of Aquino Time photo

MANILA, Philippines – “We stand corrected. It was an honest mistake,” Philippine Daily Inquirer’s editor-in-chief Letty Jimenez Magsanoc said Saturday.

The statement was issued in response to reports that the alleged photo of President Benigno Aquino III on the cover of Time Magazine was a “fake”. It was used on the front page of the paper in this Saturday’s issue and was posted on INQUIRER.net, the news website of the Inquirer Group of Companies.

Aquino was named as one of Time’s 100 most influential people of the world in 2012.
