Bomb suspects’ US sister ‘heartbroken,’ skeptical

Police guard the apartment building where the sister of the Boston marathon bombing suspects is believed to live, Friday, April 19, 2013, in West New York, N.J. Federal investigators had removed items from the house earlier in the day, although there is no indication that the sister was involved in the bombing. AP

WEST NEW YORK, New Jersey — The FBI on Friday removed a computer from the U.S. home of a sister of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects. Police said she was cooperating with the investigation and was “heartbroken, surprised and upset,” though she told reporters she wasn’t sure the accusations against her brothers were true.

The woman, identified by local police as Ailina Tsarnaeva, told federal agents she had not been in contact with her brothers for years, according to Police Director Michael Indri.

“The main concern was to confirm that there was no contact made one way or the other, and I’m confident that the FBI has confirmed that,” he said.

Federal agents searched the home and left with a computer and other electronics.

Early in the day, she spoke through a barely open door to News12 New Jersey and The Star-Ledger newspaper, telling them she was sorry for the families that lost loved ones “the same way I lost my loved one.”

“I’m hurt for everyone that’s been hurt,” she said.

Her brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed overnight in a shootout with police outside Boston. Her younger brother was taken into custody Friday evening after he was found hiding in a boat in someone’s backyard.

“He was a great person,” the woman said of her dead brother. “I thought I knew him. I never would have expected that from him. He is a kind and loving man. The cops took his life away just the same way he took others’ lives away, if that’s even true. At the end of the day, no one knows the truth.”

“I have no idea what got into them,” she said.

Indri said the woman was cooperating with the FBI.

“She’s heartbroken, surprised and upset like we all are,” he said.

A woman who described herself as a friend of Ailina described a different relationship between the woman and the elder brother.

Vicki Colon said the woman feared him because “he used to beat her.”

Colon said she met the two brothers during a visit to Massachusetts a couple years ago. She said the younger brother was very quiet.

West New York Mayor Felix Roque spoke briefly with Tsarnaeva and her family shortly after her younger brother was taken into custody Friday night. Roque said he wanted to offer his assistance.

“I’m looking at the human side of this,” Roque said as he left the home. “It’s not easy, it’s not easy for them. They are really hurting. They are human beings, just like all of us … it’s a family death, and it’s not easy for them.”

What do you expect from angry Muslims? They are traitors and ingrates.

I’m really wondering, what it is there in QURAN, that makes some moslems became radicalized by just simply devoting themselves to some specific VERSES.

    • Josephine Parico

Because the Koran justifies the killing of enemies and non-believers. The terrorist brothers are sore losers in life and what better way to channel their anger of life to the American people.

I suggest you read it up and surely, you will be taken aback. Their holyshit book makes the old testament a lousy horror book. The Koran is the real deal. The real HORROR BOOK.

I am surprised for her not coming forward and tell authorities that they were her brothers on the loose after the Boston marathon bombing.

    • Concur_Dissent

Remember, the identities of the brothers were only disclosed to the public a few hours after the death of the elder brother… The initial 4 pictures released by the FBI, was not very clear.

  • Concur_Dissent

The FBI released the pictures of the suspected bombers to the media the other day asking the public to help identify these suspects… Shortly after that, the elder brother was killed in a “gunfight” with police. It was only at that stage that the FBI “discovered” their identities.

there are now reports emerging that the FBI had already investigated the elder brother in 2011 or two years ago at the request of Russia. Their investigation at that time did not result to anything significant…. Question, if the FBI had already in 2011, investigated their “suspect number 1 in a black hat” (as the FBI originally identified him), why the hell didn’t they just outright identify them to the media and say that these brothers are known to police, disclose their names and appeal to the public that they are persons of interest and would like to talk to them about the marathon bombings….

Upon the capture of the younger brother last night, he was taken to the hospital in a “black suburban” instead of any of the ambulances available all over the place giving the impression that he was wounded but not seriously, otherwise, he should have been taken in an ambulane, right? How come when I woke up early today, the news is that this kid is now in critical condition for which reason the authorities “could not investigate” him at this time…. There seems to be something wrong with this picture….

Just wondering, Concur-Dissent, are you from Chechnya? Because I can’t understand where your sympathy from these two “lost souls” (read: terrorists) is coming from.

      • Concur_Dissent

It just doesn’t make sense…chechens who seeked asylum in the US because of persecution in chechnya by the Russians are now biting the hand that fed it? Shouldn’t they be mad at russia instead of the US who gave them refuge?? What about the interviews from the younger brother’s former and current classmates, teachers, teammates, coaches and parents who had nothing but glowing admiration for this kid as a quite, athletic, a good student and a good leader? Never have been in trouble at school or in the community?

Most serial killers that Ive read about, tend to be loners, not into team sports, psychos undergoing some kind of psyciatric help, people who as minors were abused by older relatives, priest, pedophiles, people always in trouble at school with authorities, etc etc… Not any of these “profile” was ever described of him….The only person who lashed out at them was their own blood uncle who hasn’t seen them since 2009? An uncle by the way who are at odds with their own family, the reason why they are not in speaking terms..

        These just doesn’t add up!

A devout Muslim hates anything Western. They hate booze. They hate uncovered women. They hate democracy and free speech. Add to that the feeling of being left behind because they stuck to their stone age religion. They are angry at the American way of life.

        The equation is like this:

Muslim + Hopelessness + Enviousness of American way of life = TERRORISM

        Everything just adds up!

      • Concur_Dissent

Simply change the word “devout muslim” to “muslim extremist” and you will have the proper definition of terrorism…

you have a terrible case of islamophobia… pls seek professional help
