Motorcycle stolen inside Camp Crame

MANILA, Philippines—A motorcycle owned by a policeman was allegedly stolen inside the Philippine National Police’s National Headquarters in Quezon City Thursday, an official said Friday.

A Highway Patrol Group official who requested anonymity said Police Officer 3 Jeare Agra of the Directorate for Investigative and Detective Management (DIDM) lost his “new” black Honda XRM motorcycle around 11 a.m. Thursday inside Camp Crame in Quezon City.

The official said the motorcycle was just parked near the National Headquarters office before it was stolen.

The plate number of the motorcycle was not immediately available, the source said, but added that concerned authorities have been alerted regarding the stolen vehicle.

Is this is not impunity of the first order, with the lawless doing a hit right in the bastion of police authorities? This begs the question: is anybody or any place safe these days?

  • Angel Divera

This shows that we are unsafe anywhere and the thieves don’t fear anyone.

It’s a shame that even inside Camp Crame, a motorcycle is stolen in broad daylight. What is happening to our country general? Or it could be something else. Normally, new motorcycles are covered by comprehensive insurance like a new car. If it is stolen or carnapped, the insurance firm will have no choice but to pay the amount equivalent to the purchase price of the said motorcycle or car. Perhaps, the motorcycle owner changed his mind and fabricated the carnapping of the motorcycle to raise some money. Still, he keeps the motorcycle to himself.

  • Joe Chua

signify lack of discipline in the police force, for it to happen inside the camp, mean that security of lives and properties are not safe in the country
