Cagayan de Oro’s Dave Sebastian Mosqueda finally made his trip to Cebu worthwhile by bagging two titles in the Milo Junior Tennis Cup which ended yesterday at the Cebu International Tennis Centre Inc. (CITCI) in Laray, Consolacion, Cebu.

After failing to grab any title at last week’s 14th Tru-Flex National Age Group Tournament held in Lapu-Lapu, Mosqueda made up for that dismal performance by clinching the 18 and 16 boys titles at the expense of fellow Cagayanon Emmanuel Vacalares.

In the 18 boys championship, he bested Vacalares, 7-5, 6-3, after finishing off the campaign of Cebuano Changmai Necesario, 6-4, 7-6, in the semifinals.

Vacalares, for his part, advanced to the finals with a 6-2, 6-3 win over another Cebuano Jed Villarin.

In the 16 boys finals, Mosqueda routed Vacalares, 6-1, 6-1 gollowing his 6-0, 6-0 semifinal thrashing of Francis Navales while Vacalares outwitted Elijah Arevalo, 7-6, 6-3.

The 14 boys title went to Gener Francis Lambayan who demolished Rey Dante Toledo, 6-1, 6-0, while the 12 boys title went to Venz Anton Alforque who survived Gabriel Trazo, 5-7, 6-3, 10-4. Alforque advanced to the finals without wielding a racket after Jace Unto defaulted their semis match.

Trazo, on the other hand, did not go home empty-handed as he annihilated Cesar Kristofer Salimbangon, 6-0, 6-1, for the 10 under unisex title.

In the distaff side, Zethley Mae Alferez dumped Beverly Enriquez, 6-2, 6-3, for the 14 girls title. Alferez beat Shyne Villareal, 6-2, 6-0, in the semifinals while Enriquez took out Patricia Tapdasan, 6-0, 4-6, 10-8.

The 12 girls title went to Cristina Marie Sampan who routed Mary Nathalie Cobarde, 6-3, 6-3. Sampan advanced to the finals with a 6-3, 6-0 routing of Leanne Transporte while Cobarde whipped Jean Rica Banares, 7-6, 6-0.
