Councilman shoots neighbor
A 47-YEAR-OLD man was shot and killed by a councilman in barangay Lapay, Argao town, southern Cebu.
Castro Rendon died due to gunshot wounds in his stomach, chest and left cheek.
The suspect, Celso Sacyap, 45, surrendered to the police after the incident. Police said the two men had a drinking session at a friend’s house before the killing Thursday night.

When they arrived at the councilman’s house, Sacyap invited the victim to sleep over. Rendon declined, causing an argument.
While arguing, Rendon allegedly took a knife and stabbed Sacyap in the neck. The councilman fought back by shooting Rendon thrice with a .38 caliber revolver, said PO2 Alexander Lerio of Argao police./ Correspondent Joy Cherry S. Quito
