2 killed in Toledo shootings
A 90-YEAR-OLD woman and a 25-year-old man were killed in separate shooting incidents in Toledo City, southwest Cebu.
Faustina Resani was sleeping in her home in barangay Kapitan Claudio when unidentified assailants barged in and shot her at dawn yesterday.
The victim’s son Bonifacio told police that they found her mother gunshot wounds in the different parts of the body after they successive bursts of gunfire.
PO1 Emmanuel Aragon said they are still investigating the motive of the killing.
In barangay Matab-ang, Simplicio Nengaska Jr. was shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants Thursday afternoon.
Witnesses told police two men on motorcycle chased the victim along a road in sitio Tubod. The victim was in the face when he was cornered.
Aragon said police received reports that the victim was allegedly involved in illegal drug activities which could be the motive of the attack.
