Vice mayor of Agusan del Sur town killed in road accident

TAGUM CITY, Philippines— The vice mayor of Trento, Agusan del Sur, was killed in a road accident in Prosperidad town early Wednesday, police said.

Inspector Nilo Tecson, Prosperidad  police chief, told the Inquirer by phone that Vice Mayor Ronald Plaza Agcopra sustained severe head and body injuries when the government-owned vehicle he was driving slammed into a concrete flower pot on the Agusan-Butuan road in the village of Awa village past 1:30 a.m.

Tecson said the 51-year-old vice mayor was traveling by himself in a white Ford Everest (SGL-554) from Trento to Butuan City when the accident happened.
