MANILA, Philippines—A jail officer was arrested in Pampanga for alleged possession of methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” and several firearms and ammunition, police said Thursday.

Regional Police Office 3 identified the suspect as Senior Jail Officer 2 Felix T Adalim, 42, a member of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology assigned in Dinalupihan, Bataan.

Police said Adalim was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted in front of Basa Air Base in Florida Blanca, Pampanga around 9:50 p.m. last Tuesday.

Investigation disclosed that Adalim allegedly operates in Olongapo and Pampanga. He is in the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s target list, police said.

Confiscated from Adalim were two sachets and a plastic pack of shabu, the P12,000 marked money used during the transaction, two firearms and assorted ammunition and a Toyota Innova.

Adalim was placed under police custody while drug charges were being prepared against him.
