Police seize 4 unlicensed guns in Placer

NAGA CITY—Four unlicensed firearms and ammunition were seized on Tuesday from two persons in Placer, Masbate.

Senior Superintendent Arnold Albis, head of the Special Task Force Masbate, said a shotgun and revolver were seized from the house of a Chucky Tinapay in Barangay (village) Villa Inocencio in Placer.

Albis said police also disarmed Gorlito Recamadas, 33, and seized two .45 cal. guns and ammunition from him. Recamadas tried to escape but was arrested immediately.

The operations were not “knee-jerk” reactions to two killings over the weekend that claimed the lives of a vice mayoral candidate in Mobo town and a councilor in Balud town, said Albis.

In 2010, police listed 14 gun-related murders in Placer alone.
