Pope arrives in St. Peter’s Square for final audience

VATICAN CITY—Pope Benedict XVI on Wednesday arrived in St. Peter’s Square in his “popemobile” for his final general audience on the eve of his resignation, AFP reporters on the Vatican’s famous plaza saw.
The 85-year-old waved to a crowd of more than 100,000 pilgrims, who cheered and waved flags, holding up banners with their last farewells to the pope.
