VATICAN CITY—The Vatican said Monday that a secret report on a leaks scandal in 2012 had revealed human “imperfections” in the running of the Church and would be shown exclusively to the future pope, not to voting cardinals.

“The Holy Father has decided that the documents, which only he has seen, will be exclusively available to his successor,” Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said at a press conference.

“Their work made it possible to detect, given the limitations and imperfections of the human factor of every institution, the generosity and dedication of those who work with uprightness and generosity in the Holy See,” it said.

Italian media reports had suggested cardinals set to vote in a new pope once Benedict XVI has resigned would be given access to the report

The pope met Monday with the cardinals who investigated the so-called “Vatileaks” scandal, Lombardi said.

The run-up to next month’s conclave to elect a successor to Benedict has seen new scandals and allegations emerge, including claims of “inappropriate behavior” on the part of one of the cardinal electors, Keith O’Brien of Britain.

O’Brien has resigned as head of the Catholic Church in Scotland and said he would not take part in the conclave. The pope has accepted his resignation, effective Monday.

Already four other members of the conclave are associated with the pedophile priest scandals that have dominated Benedict’s eight years on the papal throne.

Also Monday, the Vatican said the pope has signed a special decree giving cardinals “the possibility to bring forward” a conclave to elect his successor.

“I leave the College of Cardinals the possibility to bring forward the start of the conclave once all cardinals are present, or push the beginning of the election back by a few days should there be serious reasons,” the pope said.

The conclave is traditionally held between 15 and 20 days after the papal seat is left vacant, but that period normally includes a nine-day period of mourning for a deceased pope.

Benedict is the first head of the Roman Catholic Church since the Middle Ages to resign of his own free will.

The 85-year-old German pontiff cited his age as the main factor in his nearly unprecedented decision, but observers said Vatileaks may have been the last straw in a scandal-ridden papacy.

pedophile priest scandals  – this is very tormenting to know that a lot of devil works is at play here even in the most holy places on earth.

    • AntiAko

which just goes to show that the Vatican is far from being a holy place…or that the priests and cardinals are far from being holy people…

We are just humans – full of imperfections but to be in that kind of job (priests – cardinals) you need to be somehow 100% perfect or else evil will taint their mind and their sinful thoughts will be put to action.

        2 Corinthians 11:13-15

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising
themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan
disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his
servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their
end will correspond to their deeds.

“The newspaper stories center on an investigation last year by three cardinals into a scandal involving leaks from the Vatican.
La Repubblica, citing unnamed sources familiar with the investigation, alleged that the investigation revealed a series of scandals involving sex, money and power that touch cardinals, priests and lay people that work in the Vatican.
Vatican spokesman the Rev. Federico Lombardi declined to comment on La Repubblica’s article in a media briefing on Thursday.
CNN Senior Vatican Analyst John Allen, also a correspondent with the National Catholic Reporter, suggested in a piece written Friday that unsourced speculation about a shadowy “gay lobby” within the Vatican should be taken with a grain of salt.
But, he said, while he doesn’t know for sure if the three cardinals did investigate networks based on sexual orientation, “frankly, it would be a little surprising if they hadn’t” — given past scandals that have become public concerning clergy involved in homosexual activities.”

Noon sabi ng POPE na bibigyan niya ng copy ang 116 cardinals ng report ng tatlong CARDINALS.

    Bakit biglang nagbago?????

There is no need to investigate. The VATICAN is full of PERVERTS. Wolves  in sheep’s clothing.

The Pope arrives in heaven, where St. Peter awaites
him. St. Peter asks who he is.

The Pope: “I am the pope.”

St. Peter: “Who? There’s no such name in my book.”

The Pope: “I’m the representative of God on Earth.”

St.Peter: “Does God have a representative? He didn’t tell me …”

The Pope: “But I am the leader of the Catholic Church …”

St. Peter: “The Catholic church … Never heard of it … Wait, I’ll check
    with the boss.”

St. Peter walks away through Heaven’s Gate to talk with God.

St. Peter: “There’s a dude standing outside who claims he’s your
    representative on earth.”

God: “I don’t have a representative on earth, not that I know of … Wait,
I’ll ask Jesus.” (yells for Jesus)

    Jesus: “Yes father, what’s up?”

God and St. Peter explain the situation.

Jesus: “Wait, I’ll go outside and have a little chat with that

Ten minutes pass and Jesus reenters the room laughing out loud. After a few
minutes St. Peter asks Jesus why he’s laughing.

Jesus: “Remember that fishing club I’ve started 2000 years ago? It still

The scandal which the Catholic church faces does not include  SEXUAL Abuses of priest in the Philippines.  I personally know of  a priest who fathered a child in Region 3, and I encourage all Filipinos (boys and girls) who were sexually abused by priests to speak up and come clean with this unspeakable  horror done by men in the cloak  of the Catholic Church. Let the heads of the evils in the Catholic Church roll before a New Pope is selected.
