A 49-YEAR-OLD man was critically wounded after he was shot by two unidentified assailants in his house in barangay Jugan, Consolacion, northern Cebu.

Ricardo Alivio sustained a gunshot wound in the chest. The victim was confined in a hospital in Cebu City.

Police said Alivio was sleeping in the terrace of his house when he was shot past 10 p.m. Thursday.

Two men were seen fleeing the area after the shooting, police said.

Relatives brought the victim to the hospital.

Yesterday morning, police arrested 19-year-old Clinton Diaz as a suspect in the shooting.

Diaz, a resident in the barangay, denied involvement in the shooting.

Police said the man was brought to the PNP Crime Laboratory for a paraffin test.

Diaz admitted to the police he and the victim figured in a trouble a few years ago./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
