Team PNoy starts quest at Plaza Miranda

HISTORIC PLAZA MIRANDA President Aquino takes center stage to proclaim the administration coalition’s Team PNoy senatorial candidates in Plaza Miranda in Manila on Tuesday night. The Team PNoy candidates are (from left) Jun Magsaysay, Sonny Trillanes, Chiz Escudero, Cynthia Villar, Jamby Madrigal, Koko Pimentel, Grace Poe, Bam Aquino, Alan Peter Cayetano, Loren Legarda, Risa Hontiveros and Sonny Angara. GRIG C. MONTEGRANDE

The significance of Plaza Miranda as the venue for the opening salvo of the Liberal Party-led administration coalition was not lost on President Aquino, saying the place was “historical” not just for the LP but “to every Filipino seeking true democracy, justice and progress.”

He said that over four decades after explosions rocked what could have been a peaceful proclamation of eight senatorial candidates of LP, Team PNoy returned to the same spot to honor the memory of those who died, and celebrate the “sacrifices and inspiration of a nation who continues to rise from challenges.”

“This signifies that the sacrifice of nine people on Plaza Miranda wasn’t all for naught,” said the President.

“There is no doubt that we have risen. We opposed (martial rule) … and in the end, we succeeded,” said Aquino.

He then warned against “surrendering our success to those trying to waylay us,” and those “political chameleons.”

Team PNoy’s 12 senatorial candidates took turns at their proclamation rally calling for the continued fight against corruption to sustain Aquino’s good governance platform and asked for support in ensuring victory to accomplish the task.

“Corruption breeds poverty, we must eradicate this to ensure that funds and services (of the government) go to the people and not to the pockets of corrupt government officials,” former Sen. Ana “Jamby” Madrigal, a critic of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, said at Plaza Miranda in Quiapo, Manila.

A makeshift steel perimeter fence blocked the entire plaza.

Former Akbayan Rep. Risa Hontiveros focused on the current Senate majority that she said appeared to be uncooperative to the President’s good governance agenda.

She also took an apparent dig at candidates of the opposition United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), saying that its victory could threaten Aquino’s reform platform.

It would be recalled that Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, one of the leaders of UNA, played a key role in stalling debates on the reproductive health bill that he opposed.

Enrile also loudly opposed the sin tax bill, balking at how livelihood in the northern Luzon would be threatened if the government insisted on increasing revenue targets from tobacco products.

Both measures were approved in the final hours of the session before Congress adjourned for the holidays last year.

Hontiveros said “many gains on women’s rights and healthcare” in particular “could be easily reversed if an antireform Senate is elected.”

“I am in particular concerned about our gains in reproductive health and they could easily be reversed by a Senate that refuses to fight for the people. I am also worried about how healthcare reforms could be stunted by partisan politics or by those who equate public spending to personal spending,” she added.

Grace Poe

When it was Grace Poe’s turn at the microphone, she said agreeing to turn to public service would allow her the chance at helping alleviate the situation of the majority of Filipinos who did not earn enough.

“I have been asked, ‘Why shift to politics?’” said Poe, former chairperson of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board.

“If we mix politics and the desire for genuine politics, I can also fulfill the dream of my father to serve,” added Poe, daughter of the late actor Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ), who ran and lost in the 2004 presidential election.

Angara, Trillanes

Aurora Rep. Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara vowed to focus on education, saying it is the most accessible means to escape poverty and unemployment.

“We are finally seeing the dividends of daang matuwid (good governance),” Angara said referring to the administration’s battle cry against corruption.

He added that more funding for education and other social services would ensure that those with less would enjoy more from government.

Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV of the Nacionalista Party (NP), now in coalition with Aquino’s Liberal Party (LP), stressed the anticorruption component of his proposed platform.

“Until now, the corrupt are still in government despite the daang matuwid program. That’s why we need to support the President’s programs to finally realize our dreams of a free, peaceful and developed Philippines,” Trillanes said.

“You who are here now, study very well the people asking for your vote. Do they really care about your welfare? Can they be trusted not to pocket government funds? If you are not sure, then do not consider candidates other than those you see on stage right now,” he told the audience.

Alan Peter Cayetano

Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano, another NP candidate, appeared with a giant red glove on his right hand to symbolize the fight against corruption.

Cayetano noted that since anticorruption efforts were now bearing fruit, the focus should shift to ensuring that last year’s 6.6-percent growth in gross domestic growth would trickle down to the grassroots.

Cayetano said good governance should be equated with good economics.

“We need to work to bring prices down and increase the number of jobs. Other candidates claim to fight cheating and corruption but are actually guilty of it,” he said.

Aga, Dingdong

Popular actor Aga Muhlach and singer Dingdong Avanzado then took their turn onstage.

Muhlach expressed his support for Team PNoy candidates, telling the audience that the President’s initiatives have greatly helped the country.

Avanzado sang two original songs, “I-Download Mo” and “Panahon Na,” which carried inspirational messages.

“Our economy has turned for the better. It is very inspiring, thanks to the administration of President Aquino,” the singer said.

“I hope you can download all the names of the Team PNoy candidates and include these in your ballot,” Avanzado told the audience.

Koko Pimentel

After the break, Sen. Aquilino Pimentel III of PDP-Laban reminded the people that he was a victim of poll fraud in the 2007 senatorial elections and that electoral cheating was one form of corruption.

“Because of that I lost four years of my first term. The remainder that I served has not been enough for me to work on my platform,” he said.

“We could probably rephrase the tourism department’s slogan. It’s More Fun ’Pag Walang Dayaan,” Pimentel said.

The senator, who hails from Cagayan de Oro City, added that Mindanao had been left behind as the rest of the country progressed.

“Mindanao lagging behind is just a symptom of lingering corruption,” he reminded the audience. Quiapo hosts a significant number of Muslim residents.

Magsaysay, Bam Aquino

Former Sen. Ramon Magsaysay Jr. said good governance should have a concrete economic component.

He added that people should be involved in economic policymaking so as to prevent a repeat of the scams in the Arroyo administration.

Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino said daang matuwid also meant “you’re still our boss” referring to one of the President’s promises during his inaugural address.

“The people should always be considered first above everything else. Do not listen to those who try to influence you to leave daang matuwid,” Aquino added.

Cynthia Villar

Former Las Piñas Rep. Cynthia Villar highlighted the importance of job creation and livelihood in eradicating poverty.

She echoed her husband Sen. Manny Villar’s presidential campaign mantra in 2010, sipag at tiyaga (industry and patience) and transformed it to hanepbuhay, a play on the Filipino words for “fantastic” and “life.”

“I believe life is hanepbuhay if there is hanapbuhay,” Villar said.

Escudero

Sen. Francis Escudero recalled that the President had made three promises to Filipinos during the 2010 presidential campaign until his inaugural address: Tuwid na daan, which is against corruption; kayo ang boss ko, which sets aside one’s personal interest; and walang wangwang, which allows equal opportunity and a level playing field.

“We are finally seeing the fruits of what the President has started—a better economy and better lives. We thank you, Mr. President,” Escudero said.

The senator added that Aquino would not be able to achieve the rest of his platform without the cooperation of the rest of the government.

“He cannot do it alone. “Nauubos na ang buhok niya at wala pang nahahanap na mamahalin sa buhay (His hair is almost gone and he has not found the love of his life.)” The President needs the help of the Senate. He needs the help of Team PNoy,” Escudero added.

The senator asked for the people’s “trust and support so we can fulfill our duty” as the President’s allies in the Senate.

Loren Legarda

Sen. Loren Legarda, of the Nationalist People’s Coalition, introduced the rest of the candidates during her spiel.

Earlier in the day, Cayetano and Hontiveros campaigned in Pritil, Tondo.

“We have conducted consultations in an urban public market. We also intend to conduct a consultation in a rural market,” Cayetano said in an interview.

Hontiveros also spent the morning in an urban poor community in Quezon City to encourage citizens to vote in favor of reforms.

“We won new social reforms like the reproductive health law and the sin tax law. We cannot allow the next Senate to undermine these gains,” Hontiveros said.

At the rally in Plaza Miranda, also on stage were VIPs including Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, former Sen. Nene Pimentel, Sen. Manny Villar, Manila Rep. Tricia Bonoan, Alaminos Mayor Hernani Braganza, Albay Gov. Joey Salceda, Richard Gomez, Leyte Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez, Budget Secretary Florencio Abad Jr., Transportation  Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya, Maguindanao Gov. Toto Mangudadatu, Pangasinan Rep. Rachel Arenas, ARMM Gov. Mujiv Hataman and presidential adviser Ronald Llamas.

““Corruption breeds poverty, we must eradicate this to ensure that funds and services (of the government) go to the people and not to the pockets of corrupt government officials,” former Sen. Ana “Jamby” Madrigal, a critic of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, said at Plaza Miranda in Quiapo, Manila.”

He heh he!

Anther thing, remember the MOOE or Maintenance Operation and Other Expenses should be strictly use to run their offices, then, in heavens name, why do they need as much as P2,200,000.00 A MONTH! This is the season of false promises and declaration of righteousness. This is the season of extending an “Angelic smile” to the voters, but what is the real score. He he he. Just check how many these politician spend in their political campaign, it runs into HUNDREDS OF MILLION OF PESOS!

Then, think how much the President receives as basic salary in year 2011 and prior years! He receives a measly amount of P60,000 a MONTH! The Senate President, the House Speaker, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and last, the Chief Commissioner of COA  receives P43,000 a month, and the rest of the ordinary Senators, the ordinary Congressman, the Chief General in the Arm Forces receives a measly amount of P38,000.00 He he he!

So, why do they spend so much during election. SECRET! they will recover it once the are elected. Besides, as government officials, they have transportation allowances, they receive representation allowances, they receive allowances on foreign travels, and as member of a committee, in fact, there are Senators who is head of more than one Committee, and he receives millions a month! He he he.

He he he!. Know your enemy and your friends  Your enemy is from within the government, They do great damages. For example, former Senator of Maguindanao Migz Zubiri was given P4 billion pesos for the Jetropa project. Ano ang nanyari? Sarado na at nakalimutan na ang project. Si Senator Angara, former Dean of U.P, very bright and seemingly honest and a gentleman.

This is the time of pondering. This is the ultimate weapon of the Citizen, your vote. Bigyan ninyo ng kalagahan ang boto ninyo, NEVER SELL YOUR VOTE  OUT OF FRIENDSHIP, being beholden to the candiate because of a favor,,ang namimili ng boto!

Let us not vote those Congressman who absent themselves during the deliberation of the FREEDOM OF INFORMATION! He he he! Magaling mangako, magaling mambola, at magaling mamily ng boto. Let us vote real Filipinos, iboto natin ang sarili nating lahi. This time, let us select brown Filipinos. Tignan ninyo si House Speaker  Belmonte Jr. and Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile. Beware, this is the defining moment as a Filipino nation, remember the PPP of PNoy which aim to sell our assets to the Chinese! We may wake up soon and realize that our country is no longer ours!.. .

Those were the happiest moments in my life.

Isulong ang Catholic Vote, magkaisa ang mga tunay na Katoliko at tutulan ang mga pulitikong “Roman Catholic by Faith and Religion” but not a Congressman Catholic or Senator Catholic.

For as long as the moneyed candidates continue to lord it over the political arena, there can never be genuine reforms in our country. We will never move forward. Where’s the FOI?  6.6% growth rate? Where are the jobs? Why are there no solutions for poverty? All these are just pretty much trumped up slogans that have yet to be felt by Filipinos. Aquino, lest you forget, your father Ninoy was conspicuously absent at that bloody LP rally at Plaza Miranda four decades ago. His excuse? He went home to get his bullet-proof vest such that he escaped the deadly bombing. It was widely bruited about that Ninoy had knowledge that the bombing will take place through his connections with the NPA such that he was the only LP stalwart absent at that meeting. It is unconscionably that you will cite reference to that bloody LP meeting today with blood in the hands of your father.

That Aquino did not steal anything from the people is a big joke. Why else will he protect his friends & cronies (KKK) when they are facing corruption charges? Without any benefit of investigations, he absolves them and declares them innocent right away. Is this the way to run an anti-corruption drive? He is not fooling anyone, his actions speak for themselves – he is protecting and looking the other way when his friends are the ones deeply involved in corruption. No wonder that smuggling is at an all time high during his watch, it has reached P 20 billion pesos in a year and who benefits from such illegal activities? The KKK’s for sure. And whatever happened to Aquino’s promise to open his bank account for transparency? Nothing, he reneged on that promise in the same way that he balked at his promise to support the FOI bill, which would have put in danger his beloved KKK’s from being exposed as being the corrupt bunch that they are. No, you are not fooling anybody Mr. Aquino, only the blind are your poor victims.

“Good governance” under this administration is a myth. Aquino’s KKK’s are so embroiled in corruption and they are so blatantly arrogant in doing so because they know that Aquino will protect them without any questions being asked. No investigations were ever conducted whereas evidence were so strong that Aquino’s KKK’s are deep into corruption. Aquino is using the whole government machinery to protect the KKK’s and diverts attention from their shenanigans by always trying to blame the previous administration for the woes of the country today.  What a sham this administration of Aquino had become.

      • joshmale2004

This is my comment to Mr. Tiglao’s column on rice smuggling last December. Likewise, this is my simple reply to you now my friend. Rice smuggling has been in existence since previous Presidents. It’s how you prevent or catch the attempts of these rice smugglers. Please read on.

Tthe $433M difference of rice export recorded by Vietnam and imports recorded by Philippines can actually be accepted as technically went to smuggled rice. You are correct about this. However, by directly attributing this to the policy of the Government if not wrong is somewhat not in the proper context as our government off course can not control nor monitor whatever rice is being shipped out from Vietnam being another country. What we need to focus is if this $433M was considered smuggled, how much of these smuggled rice were the government able to apprehend or foiled before it reached our retailers and market. If you can get these figures, and deduct it to the unnaccounted P433M, then the balance will be the actual smuggled rice succeeded in penetrating our market. To give you and example, the following apprehensions conducted by our BOC in some news reports (Off course there may be other apprehensions not reported in the news but has records with BOC) which if part of the $433M, was succesfully foiled and recovered by the Government.     420,000   sacks smuggled by Amira foods in July 25, 2012       94,000   sacks smuggled from Vietnam on Aug 2012        40,000  bags smuggled by Afidee Trading last June 13, 2012        12,000  kg smuggled by Darcy Tan on Nov 06, 2012
My point and bottomline is, smuggling of rice or any other commodoties, has been here and alll other countries since time immemorial. The most important matter is what is the success rate of our government or any government in foiling and apprehending attempts of bringing in smuggled items. That’s how you gauge the success of any governing body in fighting smuggling. Based on the news items I sampled between a 5 months period, it reflects that the government is somwehat relentless in its effort in foiling and fighting of smuggling in our ports. I hope you appreciate my observation.

    deliver your expectations.

Please be realistic. Our problems cannot be solve overnight. It took China 3 decades to overturn their economy.

    DAANG MATUWID AS MORAL GOVERNANCE
Unmasking the Idiocy and Hypocrisy of Team PNoy

Conrado de Quiros uncovered the idiocy and hypocrisy of the LP-dominated Team PNoy. No one can doubt De Quiros’s motive because he’s one of the most consistent and astute defenders of Aquino’s “daang matuwid” in the public arena. The most rational explanation for his criticism is his desire to weed out the wheat from the chaffs in “daang matuwid.”

    (1) The Making of the President

Still grieving for the death of former president Cory Aquino, the entire nation was awakened by the prophetic voice of De Quiros calling out in the wilderness for Noynoy to lead another Edsa people power. In his article, “Noynoy for President” (PDI, 08/10/2009), De Quiros claimed: “If elections were held today, who can beat him? With the Cory magic materializing with the alacrity of a genie summoned, the presidency is the least of what the Aquino family can get.”

For sure, Noynoy became president because he gained more votes than his opponents in 2010 presidential elections. For Mar Roxas and his Balay group, however, it was LP and its political machinery that made him president. De Quiros debunked this false claim: “… Roxas will drive P-Noy’s government into more trapo directions than before. The original contending groups weren’t Samar and Balay, it was the volunteers and the politicians in P-Noy’s campaign. For reasons that are more mysterious than the ways of heaven, P-Noy seems to have bought Mar and his Liberals’ claim that they brought him to power. The same group that never saw he was the real presidential candidate, the same group that never grasped the power of Edsa, the same group that nearly cost him the election because of it.”

He explained further, “Roxas certainly never did. To this day, he not only refuses to see that he lost the vice presidency to Jojo Binay, he refuses to see that he lost the presidency to P-Noy. Then and now, Roxas never believed the campaign was fueled by Edsa, and paid the price for it. How could he? He was neither an activist nor a member of the Yellow Force then. And winning on the strength of Edsa would have meant he owed P-Noy and not the other way around. He realized his folly at the 11th hour, trading blue for yellow to try to turn things around, alas, too late.”

    (2) The Filipino Quest for Moral Governance

The historical backdrop of P-Noy’s rise to power was the “moral bankruptcy” of the Arroyo administration. The challenged was to find a leader who will promote moral governance. For De Quiros, it was Noynoy because “he will not be corrupt, he will not be abusive, he will not lie, cheat and murder.”

This quest for moral governance in the selection of leaders was an echo of what former President Cory Aquino articulated during her campaign against Marcos: “we must get someone who is almost the complete opposite of what Mr. Marcos is” and committed “to dismantle the dictatorial edifice Mr. Marcos has built.” In 1986 the goal was clear: “To build for our people a genuine democracy.”

For the activists, the fight was ideological, that is, the people’s awakening in Edsa People Power was animated by ideology and not by moral outrage. And they were wrong because for the Filipino people, it was a fight between good and evil. It was captured in the collective protest, “Tama na. Sobra na. Palitan na.”

“This fight is more than an electoral fight, it is more than a fight between ‘presidentiables.’ This fight is a fight between right and wrong, it is a fight against oppression and vileness. This fight is a fight against Arroyo just as Cory’s fight was against Marcos, whether Arroyo decides to step down, as Obama has bid her do, or extend her term, as her nature compels her to do,” wrote De Quiros.

    (3) The Idiocy of Ideological Divide

Conrado de Quiros wrote: “UNA has invited all three ‘common candidates’ to its proclamation; it’s just up to them if they want to go, or can manage to bridge the geographical divide. The LP/Team PNoy is more prissy, or jealous, and says it will not abide the ‘common candidates’ falling into the arms of its rival. They may not, in the proclamation rally or any other rally, appear onstage with the UNA bets. On pain of being rendered uncommon.”

Quimbo justified this ideological divide: “It’s not a matter of someone being prevented from appearing in the activities of both sides or not. There was a specific agreement between adults, between mature political leaders. We need to be consistent on the message—the message of ‘matuwid na daan.’”

Seeing the folly, De Quiros was aghast: “Can anything be more ridiculous? You want to be consistent about the message of ‘matuwid na daan,’ which means you want to highlight the divide between those who hew to the honest path and those who don’t, which means you want to ram home the fundamental difference between the candidates of Team PNoy and those of UNA, why in God’s name have ‘common candidates’? How mature and adult can that be? That is its own refutation.”

    (4) The Hypocrisy of Black and White Politics

This ideological divide is further highlighted by LP’s “black and white” political war campaign. VP Binay, the usual head-level person, replied: “I am proud of the brown race. I heard that the issue is black and white. Wow, racist. Color against color. What is right in the heart, in spirit—that’s what will be needed in the administration.”

It’s the “loob” or “kalooban” (inner core) that is important in public service.

“The LP was part of the administration coalition that voted against the first impeachment complaint against Arroyo over the ‘Hello Garci’ wiretapping scandal, which disclosed massive cheating during the 2004 presidential elections.” VP Binay, then head of the United Opposition, was persecuted by the Arroyo administration. And now, the LP-Team PNoy is playing dirty politics by associating UNA with the Arroyos. VP Binay responded:“Look who’s talking. Those who are saying those things now were rabid supporters of GMA before. Hindi ba dati lagi kayong ‘Yes ma’am, Yes GMA’? Ngayon akala mo kung sinong mga nagmamalinis.” He asked, “Where were they when FPJ was being cheated? Where were they when we in the opposition were being harassed by the Arroyo administration?”

Take a closer look at the composition of Team PNoy. All of them are wearing the yellow shirts but only a few of them have yellow hearts.

    (5) Sinking P-Noy to Lowly Depths

Conrado de Quiros offered a damning criticism: “The LP’s decision to call itself Team PNoy doesn’t make any sense, or serve any purpose. At the very least, if the point is to drive home the ideological divide, then why have ‘common candidates’? It subverts the principle completely. How can you have candidates you presume to hew to the “matuwid na daan” belonging also to the side you accuse of hewing only to the crooked path?

“Quite apart from that, how can you associate P-Noy with the wife of his chief rival in the last presidential election, the one presidential candidate his camp accused of being epically corrupt? Who is Cynthia Villar. You can’t get a more graphic or literal contrast with daang matuwid than the detours Manny Villar created on C5 to favor his subdivisions. How can you associate P-Noy with the one person who brought his presumably idealistic group, the Magdalo, to throw in its lot with P-Noy’s chief rival and had the most unsavory things to say about the quality of P-Noy’s mind, or indeed his mental state? Who is Antonio Trillanes.

“How can you associate P-Noy with the politics of expedience, if not opportunism? Which is what adding Jamby Madrigal to the team means, because of name recall—she was a senator once— instead of someone like Erin Tañada, who’s far more eminently qualified except that the surveys apparently said he wasn’t ‘winnable.’ And now, irony of ironies, look at where Jamby is. P-Noy isn’t just the President’s name, it is also a brand name, one that emerged from the smoke of the 2010 election, one associated with honesty, integrity, decency. ‘Team PNoy’? It doesn’t raise the team to lofty heights, it sinks P-Noy to lowly depths”

    (6) Constructive Opposition as a Moral Force

Team PNoy, in its desire to control the Senate, seems to forget that the most difficult obstacle in the quest for moral governance is power. We have to remind ourselves that power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely. Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile captured the gist of this temptation of power: “…we failed miserably, not for lack of good intentions but for lack of a strong will to resist the temptations and corruptive influences of power, money and privilege. I have witnessed how the selfish and avarice of some have incessantly obstructed the road to meaningful change and reform.”

Knowing the valuable role of fiscalizers in democracy, the great nationalist Jose Diokno reminded us that the goal of LP-Team PNoy to vote for the “yes-men/women” in the Senate and in the House of Representatives is dangerous to democracy: “Yes-men are not compatible with democracy. We can strengthen our leaders by pointing out what they are doing that is wrong.”

We need constructive opposition leaders who, like the child, can tell the Emperor that he is naked. We need political leaders who stand on principles and not afraid to contradict the president. As a cabinet member of former president Cory Aquino, Jose Diokno said:

“Above all, we can strengthen the President by pointing out what she is doing that is wrong. I think we weaken her if we support everything she does even when we do not agree with that she is doing. Yes-men are not compatible with democracy. People expect our President and public officials to make mistakes—but of course, to correct them as soon as they are convinced that they have erred. How can they know they have erred, if we do not tell them so?”

Constructive opposition is not counter-reform. It is a pro-active reform force as it provides a fiscalizing role in governance, particularly in policy making. The goal is not to divide but to forge various parochial interests in order to come up with a well-informed decision in favor of the common good. The attitude of “kami at kami lang” must be purified to become “tayo at tayong lahat.” The LP’s KAMI against the UNA’s TAYO in its treatment of the “common candidates” reveals the important role constructive opposition in democracy. The LP’s KAMI philosposhy provides a fertile ground for concentration of power to the selective few. The UNA’s TAYO philosophy provides a fertile ground for decentralization of power.

All the false hopes and unfulfilled promises of Pnoy may boomerang at him and his much supported Liberal Party because less people believe in their words now since their words did not come with actions.

In 2010, many believed that Pnoy might actually bring positive changes in the PH and that their lives would be better. But all they got were boastful talks and potshots after potshots against political foes without making significant developments. So if the LP is riding solely on Pnoy’s popularity for their chance of victory, they should also blame Pnoy’s incompetency if they happen to be defeated.

Wag daw bumoto sa mga corrupt. So walang botohang magaganap.

  • joshmale2004

Frankly, I am inclined to vote for the following Senate candidates which I believe will work for the people and do not belong to Political Dynasties (1st consanguinity) except for Cayetano:
    1. Teddy Casino 2. Cayetano 3. Escudero 4. Gordon 5. Hontiveros 5. Legarda 6. Pimentel 7. and 8. Grace Poe. I will cross out the remaining blank slots.

    • etomacq

Get rid of Cayetano.. political dynasties should be applied to everyone without exception.

Jezzrel’s question to TEAM PNOY (AKA, BAM)
“What you had replied are the truth, but what is your stand regarding our claim? Are you in favor of reclaiming SABAH from the LAND GRABBER MALAYSIA or against it?”

    TEAM PNOY’s response
The claim should not be dropped. To reclaim it, the action should be backed by full military might because there might be a need to use this last and final resort to claim it. The fact is that the AFP is inferior at this point.
TEAM PNOY, kindly relay to PNoy, speed up the modernization of our armed forces please before its too late to recover SABAH from the LAND GRABBER MALAYSIA.

  • JasonBieber

PNoy is using this platform to once again attack GMA. It is starting to look pathetic that you cannot stand on your own accomplishment but rather choose to step on others to prove your legitimacy.

Even in the US which the Philippines most often emulates, Obama rarely if ever attacked G.W. Bush on a failed economy and failed war. Obama simply worked tirelessly to have his own achievements.

PNoy seems content allowing his main achievement be jailing GMA and blaming her for everything but again…that achievement does not help the Philippines.

Fyi…unemployment remains high…children are still malnourished…farmers are yet to receive any land…the poor remain hungry and homeless…roads still need repair…the agriculture sector still needs more support…police are corrupt…and the Philippines still can’t get along with China.

    • maypakialamtayo

      • JasonBieber

Ratings are based on popularity and unfortunately Filipinos vote based of popularity which is why you have several actors helping run the Philippines government. Actors and personalities that have no real business in the government.

With that said…PNoy is enjoying the result of what the previous Admin started and that is a fact. There is no way…meaning it is economically impossible to all of a sudden turn a bad economy into a good one in 3 years…impossible!!! So that can only mean the economy was already in a good position prior to PNoy’s stepping in and he is just taking credit for the results.

  • etomacq

PNOY team would only prolong our agonies.
Not one of them will get my vote.

  • lolo_Jose

NO TO
ESTRADA!!! NO TO ENRILE!!! NO TO BINAY!!!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_E3CE56OQVPC4RPYD2NR4VD3SUE Bert

  • peejmartinez

Im not really sure if I am going to vote for the whole PNOY team. For jamby, I will, but for poe and legarda? I don’t think so.

Poe hasnt done anything yet. and as for Legarda, she did everything in her power to be hated by the people. I don’t know. tough race, all is well afterwards balik to normal programming nanaman. Bsta maging okay gobyerno un na importante.

    • parefrank

But what has Noy done except to jail GMA and oust Corona to be safe against charges after his term? Or Paquiao, what he has done except playing playboy? For having his property in the US and to stay there, usually he would ned to have a green card, which is not allowed to candidates. He was so close to GMA as now to Noy.

  • boybakal

Team PNoy starts quest at Plaza Miranda….

Plaza Miranda, again. An old antiquated Plaza Miranda.
Nothing wrong with Plaza Miranda but with Team Pnoy. Plaza Miranda is the symbol of the past, past struggles that should be forgotten.
Now, here we are in 2013, still Plaza Miranda.
Find another venue, venue for revolution, high tech revolution.

  • parefrank

    to jasonbieber
What else Noy should tell about his achievements? There is nothing which really comes from him, if ever there is something. Not easy to say it is more desperation or more paranoic hate. Funny is that he hates GMA more than the Marcoses, even she did nothing bad to the Aquinos. Very contrary, GMA did not push to investigate and criminally charge the Luisita massacre. But she is the one he will blame during his full term for all problems he is unable to solve, no matter it is a new problem occuring after her stepping down. But it matches Noy’s personal record of success as professional, nothing worth to talk about. A typical Mama’s boy in a wealthy family who had no real duties and targets to achieve.
That now Team Pinoy starts at Placa Miranda, could it be to remember the killing of rallyists who wanted to protest against Mama Cory?

  • Padre Damaso

Lets give the newbies a chance let us NOT vote candidates who have done nothing – Escudero, Mitos, Bam, and etc. Lets stop Political Dynasties – Binay, Aquino, Estrada, Villar, Cayetano, Enrile and etc. Try the new names.

    • EOJ

I would make an exception with Bam Aquino. He is not even covered by the anti-dynasty bill filed in the senate which defines dynasty as within the 2ND DEGREE OF CONSANGUINITY that covers only husband-wife, parents-children, siblings.

Bam Aquino is college valedictorian, UN Awardee, Outstanding Youth of world as recognized by the World Economic Forum. He is champion of entrepreneurial causes that helps thousands of poor filipinos by helping them start their small livelihood.

Bam Aquino has accomplished so much as a youth leader and he will be the voice of the youth in the senate.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_D3LDMMAKC6UDQLDVFP2DGSJBXY Jezzrel

Really? Can he start first as a Mayor in one of the many towns of TARLAC before going into national politics?

      • GOPHILIPPINESGO

Not all those elected as senators were politicians before like pia cayetano, loren legarda, honasan, trillanes, jun magsaysay, etc…

  • Padre Damaso

The only thing I blame Pnoy for is the lack of aggression against it. But to put a blame on the current President as the source of this smuggling activities is so misguided. Better check your facts so as not to look like a stupid hater.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_D3LDMMAKC6UDQLDVFP2DGSJBXY Jezzrel

  • JasonBieber

PNoy has decided to become the judge, jury, and executioner.

He is mentioning GMA as if she was already guilty of the accusations when in actuality the cases against her lack not only any merit but lack any evidence. Ironically enough if the accused was Acosta or Padaca aka members of the PNoy KKK…PNoy is quick not only to back them up but quick to offer to pay for bail. That does not seem like a man who is being fair and is walking the “daang matuwid.”

  • Eduardo Kiu

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_D3LDMMAKC6UDQLDVFP2DGSJBXY Jezzrel

sinabi mo pa ka ed… Ninong, safe ho ba kami sa Plaza Miranda? Wala hong nakatanim na bomba ha….

  • FILIPINOpatriot4ever

Team PNoy is complete. They looked like winners.

The 3 trapo kings of United Nakaw Alliance and their 9 exclusive candidates looked like pathetic losers.

Solohin nyo mga exclusive candidates nyo!hahaha!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_D3LDMMAKC6UDQLDVFP2DGSJBXY Jezzrel

HAGEDORN for senator? Why not!!! DUTERTE for senator? Why not! Kaso di siya tumakbo….

  • GOPHILIPPINESGO

    In support of good governance,

I will vote straight Team PNoy.

I will even campaign for Team Pnoy.

The incorruptible President Aquino must succeed for the sake of our country.

  • $8866117

paki sagot naman abnoy nasaan ka nuon nangyari ang edsa in 1986 ikaw ay edad 26. paki sagot naman if you are part of history because now you’re claiming that you are part of the solution.

  • JasonBieber

If PNoy was really about good governance then he would have supported the FOI Bill. But he doesn’t appear to support a bill that would allow transparency in government transactions.

The FOI would help support good governance and a checks and balance system for the government…but again PNoy appear to only be lukewarm to the idea.

So when we hear him attack GMA and put her name next to corruption then it’s nothing but his way of persecuting a political enemy. If you are really fighting corruption then support a bill that can protect from corruption like the FOI. And also stop giving your KKK free passes.

  • yesyesyo

    The WORST POLITICAL DYNASTIES

Within 2ND DEGREE OF CONSANGUINITY as defined in a proposed senate bill:

ALL RUNNING AT THE SAME TIME

BINAY family – Daughter 1 – for senator

    Daughter 2 – for congress

                          Son – for mayor

All running while Father is incumbent vice president, who wants to be president,   so the wife who was ex-mayor will be first lady.

ARROYO family – Mother (ex president) – for congress

Son 1 and Son 2 – for congress

All running at the same time

ESTRADA family – Father (ex president) – for mayor

                                Wife 2 – for mayor

                                Son 2 – for senator

All running while Son 1 is incumbent senator

MARCOS family – Mother (ex first lady of dictator) – for congress

                               Daughter – for governor

All running while Son is incumbent senator

They are the worst of all the political dynasties.
