Bishop optimistic on Aquino’s Mindanao visit

COTABATO, Philippines – Cotabato Auxiliary Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo is optimistic about President Benigno Aquino III’s visit to a Moro  Islamic Liberation Front camp, a report from Radyo Inquirer 990AM said Monday.

The report said Bagaforo has expressed confidence that Aquino and the MILF leaders will establish mutual trust for the success of the peace agreement.

But the prelate warned that the Bangsamoro Framework Agreement without transparency will be useless.

Aquino will tackle transitional issues of the peace agreement on Monday in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.

The MILF last October signed a “framework agreement” with Aquino’s administration committing both sides to form a new autonomous entity on Mindanao by 2016 to end a decades-long guerrilla war for a separate state.  John Daryl Dimalanta

Sabagay totoo naman na walang complete transparency ang peace deal na yan… May agreement sa MNLF, MILF and what’s next??? BMFF ni Umbra Kato?? Then after Umbrakato may uusbong na naman na bagong Muslim rebel group?.. Walang katapusan.

Yup we are optimistic that this will be PNoy’s one and only visit to the area. pnoy does not travel to rough places…he mostly enjoys traveling to nice pleasant places like Australia, and the US, and Davos. However, i’m sure PNoy made an exception this time because it is election season.

Most projects of Pnoy are useless without transparency. And it has to be true transparency, not just self proclaimed. The Aquino administration has tendencies of making their projects as front covers for their own personal interests. This is why FOI is much needed! Unfortunately, they blocked it to continue using their projects and programs as fronts.
